A total of 19 inmates of Lai Chi Kok Correctional Institution (LCKCI) today (February 7) received professional nail therapist certificates at a ceremony held at the Institution.
The course is one of the programmes designed for a rehabilitation project for prisoners jointly organised by the CSD and the Hong Kong Hair & Beauty Merchants Association.
Speaking at the ceremony, Superintendent of LCKCI, Mr Law Hau-leung said the course could help offer more employment opportunities to inmates after their release and support their integration into the community as law-abiding citizens.
He thanked voluntary tutors of the course for sharing their professional knowledge with inmates and showing their loving care for them.
Being one of the officiating guests, Senior Superintendent (Rehabilitation) of the Correctional Services Department (CSD), Mr Lee Sheung presented certificates to inmates who had joined the four-week professional nail therapist training course.
