Hunt & Palmer, one of the world's largest independent aircraft charter companies, is taking Hong Kong's aviation industry to new heights with the opening of a new regional office in the city today (February 1).

The Hong Kong office, the 12th in its international network, will service the demands of international clients and will provide access, for the first time, to Hong Kong and Mainland China customers who wish to charter executive aircraft elsewhere in the world.

"The opening of the Hong Kong office is a very important step in our expansion programme," the Director ¡ª Corporate Development of Hunt & Palmer, Mr Jamie Martin said. "As our regional headquarters, this office will respond to the growing demand for all types of air charter solutions in the surrounding areas and the rest of the world, working particularly closely with the company's offices in Singapore and Australia."

Hunt & Palmer offers a variety of aircraft charter solutions to both the VIP and corporate travel market, many of whom already use Hunt & Palmer's services to visit Hong Kong and Mainland China. The Hong Kong office will be involved in all of Hunt & Palmer's commercial aviation and executive flights operating into the region.

The new office will be headed by Ms Roz Fielding, Charter Manager for the Hong Kong office. Ms Fielding, with seven years executive chartering experience, has transferred to Hong Kong from Hunt & Palmer's UK office. She is joined by Mr Russell Jao, Commercial Manager, who takes responsibility for Greater China. Mr Jao has extensive experience in the airline and airport environment in Greater China and has also held senior tourism-related positions in Australia and Taiwan.

"This office will allow us to provide our clients, both local and global, with a comprehensive package of tailor-made aviation products designed to meet the demands of a diverse range of clients," Mr Jao said. "All our clients have different criteria for measuring the success of their partnership with us. For some it's speed; for others, it's our global reach. Whatever the differences and requirements, Hunt & Palmer can be relied upon to make that special connection."

The Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong, Mr Mark Michelson, welcomed Hunt & Palmer¡¯s decision to set up a regional base in Hong Kong.

"Hong Kong is a key transportation and logistics hub in Asia-Pacific, so we are delighted that Hunt & Palmer has chosen to expand its business in the region with the opening of an office here. With Asia and Hong Kong ¡ª and regional aviation -- enjoying robust economic growth, I am confident that the company's commitment to long-term development in Hong Kong will help enrich our aviation industry and enhance our overall competitiveness," Mr Michelson said.

Hunt & Palmer is a leader in aviation services, delivering creative connections to the diverse range of clients for more than two decades. The company provides air travel solution for all business, private and commercial requirements including executive and VIP, conference and incentive travel, freight and logistics, product launches, sport, relief and humanitarian and financial roadshows.
