Police appealed for information on a fatal traffic accident in which an 82-year-old woman was killed in Tsing Yi this (January 21) afternoon.
Shortly after 5.35 pm, a private car driven by a 43-year-old man was travelling along a service road near the market at Cheung Hong Estate Commercial Centre. When the car made a right turn, it reportedly knocked down a woman standing there.
After the accident, the 82-year-old woman was trapped under the vehicle and rescued later. She was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital where she was certified dead at 6.37 pm.
The 43-year-old driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death.
Investigations will be taken over by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South.
