Regarding a long-stay ward in Castle Peak Hospital in which there were five female patients presented with vomiting or diarrhea symptoms recently, the hospital announced the following update today (January 17).
There is one more female patient (aged 57) at the same ward presented with diarrhea symptom. The patient has been transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment under isolation and her condition is stable. Test results of four patients were positive for Norovirus and results for the others are pending.
Infection control measures of the ward concerned have been enhanced. Admission and visiting to the ward have been suspended while all patients are under close medical surveillance.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
