The public can now vote for their favourite "healthy" websites with healthy and useful content by participating in the "2006 Meritorious Website Contest" until Sunday (December 17).
Jointly organised by the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority and the Hong Kong Playground Association, the 2006 Meritorious Website Contest aims to encourage young people to pay more visits to wholesome websites and to recognise the contributions of the producers of such websites.
Websites will be judged according to their informativeness, fun, user-friendliness, aesthetics and innovation. Approximately 10 websites will be named 2006 Meritorious Websites and of them, the most innovative one will be named the Most Innovative Website.
The results of the 2006 Meritorious Website Contest will be announced at an award presentation ceremony to be held on January 20, 2007.
To promote public participation, a carnival was organised at the Creative Arts Playground in Wong Tai Sin yesterday (December 10) featuring game stalls, online voting stations, and a variety show with singing, school dancing and band performances.
Other co-organisers include the Education and Manpower Bureau, the Committee on Home-School Co-operation, Radio Television Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Internet Service Providers Association.
