The Secretary for Justice, Mr Wong Yan Lung, SC, visited Tai Po today (December 7) to see the latest development of the district.
Accompanied by the Tai Po District Officer, Mr Eddie Poon, Mr Wong first went to Hongchi Pinehill School where he was briefed on the daily operation of the special school for the mentally handicapped. He also saw some trainees undergoing vocational training.
Mr Wong then went to Sam Mun Tsai Fishermen Village to see the progress of a series of renovation works for local residents.
The renovation works, carried out by students of the Construction Industry Training Authority, are scheduled to be completed by the end of this month.
Mr Wong later toured the Four Lane Area in Tai Po Market where he was briefed on the progress of various environmental improvement projects and its development into a local tourist attraction.
Before leaving, Mr Wong met members of the Tai Po District Fight Crime Committee and exchanged views with them on the local law and order situation.
