NPC Standing Committee Chairman leaves HK (with photos)

    The Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Mr Wu Bangguo, left Hong Kong this morning (December 4).

     Speaking to the media at the airport, Mr Wu said Hong Kong's success in hosting the ITU TELECOM WORLD 2006 had shown her charm to the world.

     He said that during this visit, he was deeply impressed that Hong Kong's society was stable and harmonious, and full of vitality.

     Mr Wu hoped that with the efforts from the SAR Government and various sectors, Hong Kong's present hard-earned good circumstances would be consolidated and developed.

     Seeing him off at the airport were Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang; Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Rafael Hui; Financial Secretary, Mr Henry Tang; Secretary for Justice, Mr Wong Yan Lung, Legislative Council President, Mrs Rita Fan; and the Convenor of Executive Council, Mr Leung Chun-ying.

     One hundred and forty primary students from the HKFEW Wong Cho Bau School from Tung Chung were also at the airport to bid farewell to Mr Wu.
