Closure order on fish stall lifted
**********************************

The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department today (December 1) lifted the closure order imposed earlier on a fish stall (market stall no. F1) on G/F, San Hui Market, Tuen Mun.

"The fish stall was closed on November 1 following detection of Vibrio cholerae in a water sample collected from its fish tank. The operator has taken remedial measures after the closure, including replacement of the filtering and disinfection system for the fish tank," a department spokesman said.

"Upon our latest inspection and the satisfactory test results of the recent fish tank water sample, we were satisfied that the immediate health hazards at the stall had been eliminated.

"We have also reminded the operator and staff members to take measures to ensure that the hygiene condition of their fish tank water is satisfactory at all times.

"The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has therefore decided to rescind the closure order and allow the fish stall to resume operation with immediate effect," the spokesman said.
