At the invitation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Mr Wu Bangguo, will visit Hong Kong from December 2 to 4 and attend the opening ceremony and welcome reception of the ITU TELECOM WORLD 2006.
ITU TELECOM WORLD 2006 is hosted by the HKSAR. The opening ceremony will be held on December 3 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, while other events of the expo will be held from December 4 to 8 at the AsiaWorld-Expo.
Mr Wu will officiate at the opening ceremony and deliver a speech. The Chief Executive of the HKSAR, Mr Donald Tsang, will also speak on the occasion.
The HKSAR Government and the Central Government are working out the details of Mr Wu's visit to Hong Kong.
