Air-conditioning back to normal at Museum of Art gallery
********************************************************

The air-conditioning system of one of the exhibition galleries at the Hong Kong Museum of Art was fully operational again last night.

A spokesman for the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) said all group visits for today were conducted as scheduled (the museum is normally closed on Thursdays, but groups visits can be booked in advance).

Regarding the conservation of the exhibits during the suspension of part of the air-conditioning system yesterday, the spokesman said that all of the exhibition galleries of the museum had been equipped with advanced temperature and humidity detective systems to ensure the best conditions for displaying the collections and exhibits.

During yesterday's interruption, the museum's pre-cooling air-handling system was activated as a backup. The LCSD's conservation and museum experts also monitored the room temperature and humidity levels of the gallery throughout the day and confirmed there was no deviation from the required international levels.
