HKSARG ceremony commemorates those who died defending HK (with photos)

    The annual official ceremony which the HKSAR Government holds in commemoration of those who died in the defence of Hong Kong between 1941 and 1945 was held at the City Hall Memorial Garden this morning (October 30, Chung Yeung Festival). The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, attended the ceremony and laid a wreath.

     Senior government officials, representatives from the Judiciary, the Legislative Council and the Executive Council were present.

     They were joined by representatives of the various Central People's Government Organisations in Hong Kong, members of the concerned Consular Corps, religious leaders, community dignitaries, former members of the Hong Kong Independent Battalion of the Dongjiang Column, war veterans' groups, and uniformed and student groups.
