The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) closed down the website of the Hong Kong Wetland Park temporarily starting today (October 28) to further strengthen its security system.
A department spokesman said a hacker defaced a webpage in the website yesterday after an unsuccessful attempt to attack the system.
"The department decided to close down the website temporarily to further strengthen the system security to safeguard the personal data therein," the spokesman said.
"There was not any leakage of personal data as revealed by the initial investigation.
"We have reported the case to the Police and other related units for further investigation. We will liaise with them closely.Ħħ
Meanwhile, application forms for annual pass to the park, advance group ticket booking and school programmes can be downloaded from the AFCD website at www.afcd.gov.hk/english/conservation/con_wetpark/con_wetpark.html. For enquiry, please call 3152 2666.
