Proposed admission fees for Sun Yat-sen Museum gazetted today

    The Public Health and Municipal Services (Fees and Charges) (Museums) (Amendment) Regulation setting out admission fees for the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum is published in the government gazette today (October 27).

     The proposed admission fees are $10 per person aged 4 or above, $5 for full-time students, people with disabilities, and senior citizens aged 60 or above, and $7 per person for a group of 20 or more.  Admission is free on Wednesdays, November 12 (the anniversary of Dr Sun's birth) and March 12 (the anniversary of Dr Sun's death).

     "The proposed admission fees are set at a level comparable with those of other fee-charging public museums," a government spokesman said.

     The amendment regulation will be tabled in the Legislative Council on November 1.  The proposed admission fees are expected to come into effect on December 1, 2006, to tie in with the opening of the Museum in December, 2006.

     Details of the opening of the museum will be announced later.
