Four employers ordered to pay MPF

    The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (October 25) obtained four orders for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at around $1 million against four employers in the District Court.  

     The District Court today issued four judgments against four employers, namely, City Pipe Technologies (Hong Kong) Limited, Cheung Kwok Wai and Cheung Kwok Fai trading as Mei May Chai Restaurant, AMJ Transportation Limited and Lam Kin Lan trading as AMJ Transportation Company. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA the sums of $507,409.28, $328,892.06, $157,492.76 and $115,666.85, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 21, 6, 6 and 6 employees of the defendants respectively.

     The amounts awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court further awarded payments of $970 as costs for the second District Court case and $930 for the other cases.
