The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (October 24) obtained three orders for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at around $800,000 against three employers in the District Court.
The District Court today issued three judgments against three employers, Merger Company Limited, Vienna Cleaning Service Company Limited and Harmony Property Management Limited. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA the sums of $77,532, $211,656.26 and $520,425.78, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 5, 160 and 190 employees of the defendants respectively.
The amounts awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court further awarded payments of $930 as costs for the District Court cases.
