The Hospital Authority (HA) issued the following announcement today (October 14) on the progress of the offer of compensation package to public hospital doctors:
On August 19,2006, HA put forward an individual letter to over 4,322 doctors currently working in public hospitals if they will accept a settlement offer with regards to the High Court ruling on their claims for work hours and rest days. Eligible doctors are given two months to consider the offer and are required to confirm their acceptance on or before the deadline of October 18.
As at today, 2,243 (51.9%) eligible doctors have indicated their acceptance of the offer, while 18 (0.4%) have rejected.
