MPFA recovers MPF non-payment for two employees

    The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (14 July) pursued a claim in the Small Claims Tribunal for some $5,000 on behalf of two employees, who were owed MPF contributions by their employer.

     At today's hearing, the defendant, 蔡德彦, trading as 金霖冲印公司, did not dispute the amount claimed. The Adjudicator ordered the employer to pay the MPFA the sum of $5,315.34, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable.

     The amount awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as it is received by the MPFA. The court further awarded payment of $90 as costs in respect of the claim.
