The Director of Fire Services, Kwok Jing-keung today (July 13) donated the surplus proceeds generated from organising the Ninth World Firefighters Games (WFG) in Hong Kong to local medical schools and charitable organisations.
The donations of over $1.4 million were surplus proceeds of the sponsorships and donations to the World Firefighters Games and Conference 2006 Ltd, which was set up to hold the WFG in Hong Kong from February 18 and 25.
At a Cheque Presentation Ceremony, Mr Kwok presented cheques to representatives of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Department of Surgery of both the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong, the Senior Citizen Home Safety Association, and the Rebuilding Collapsing School Project of the Hong Kong Christian Council.
