Postage rates for the Surface Bulk Bag service to all destinations and the bulk posting of lightweight air-mail items not exceeding 50g to Japan and Thailand will be adjusted with effect from August 14.
The Postmaster General, Mr Tam Wing-pong, said that at the same time as the adjustment, a new set of postage rates for bulk posting of lightweight items by sea to Japan and Thailand would also come into effect.

"Due to the significant increase in letter handling and delivery charges levied by overseas postal administrations, we need to adjust the postage rates to achieve cost recovery. The revision has no direct impact on the general public and will only affect a small number of commercial mailers. After the postage rates adjustment, our postage rates are still lower than those of some key postal administrations in the region," Mr T.
