Free performance of "Aloha 2006 from Hawaii" (with photos)

    The 12-member Ahuna Ohana will perform Hawaiian and Polynesian song and dance in "Aloha 2006 from Hawaii" from this Friday (July 14) until July 21 at various Leisure and Cultural Services Department venues. Admission is free.

     Performing for the first time in Hong Kong, the family will share their message of "Aloha" through their songs and dances. The performance will feature the graceful hulas and melodic songs of Hawaii, the exotic dances of New Zealand and Tahiti, and the exciting and rhythmic dances of Samoa.

     There will also be Native American dancing, including the spectacular Navajo 22-hoop dance. The dancer will weave through the hoops to form intricate shapes of nature such as a flower, a bird, the world and the majestic eagle.
