Fatal traffic accident in Tseung Kwan O

    Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tseung Kwan O this (July 3) afternoon during which a 26-year-old male private car driver and a 59-year-old female passenger were killed.

     Shortly before 4 pm, a private car driven by a 26-year-old man was travelling along Hang Hau Road towards Clear Water Bay Road.

     When reaching near Tseung Kwan O Hospital, the private car reportedly had a head-on collision with a medium goods vehicle driven by a 59-year-old man travelling along the opposite direction.

     After the accident, the 26-year-old private car driver was trapped inside the compartment and was rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious injuries, the driver was rushed to United Christian Hospital and was certified dead at 4.42 pm.

     Three female passengers of the private car were also injured. The 59-year-old woman was certified dead at 4.12 pm at Tseung Kwan O Hospital. The other two women, aged 41 and 43, were now admitted at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic, Kowloon East are proceeding.
