Castle Peak Hospital Norovirus cases update

    Regarding the recent cases of patient presenting with vomiting or diarrhoea symptoms in a male intellectual disability ward in Castle Peak Hospital (CPH), the hospital announced the following update today (June 30):

     The test results of two patients were positive for Norovirus and results for other patients are pending. No new case has been reported from the ward concerned today.  

     Admission to the above ward is being suspended while visiting arrangements remains normal. All other patients in the ward concerned are under close medical surveillance. Infection control measures have been enhanced.

     The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
