The spokesperson of TWGHs Wong Tai Sin Hospital (WTSH) made the following announcement today (June 29):
Eight male patients (aged 68 to 86) of a Rehabilitation and Extended Care ward in WTSH have presented with diarrhea or vomiting symptoms since June 23. The Norovirus tests of four patients were positive, while three were negative. Laboratory test result for the remaining patient is pending. They are now under isolation treatment and their conditions are stable.
Infection control measures have already been enhanced. There will be no new admission to and discharge from the ward for the time being. Restricted visiting policy has been implemented. All other patients in the ward concerned are under close surveillance.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
