The Labour Department will stage a two-day "Job Fair for Tertiary Education Graduates" from Wednesday (June 28). A total of 51 companies will provide more than 1,800 vacancies for job-seekers with tertiary education attainments, and about 1,400 vacancies for those below tertiary education level.
These companies come from various sectors, including aviation services, information technology and communication, banking and finance, retail, catering, manufacturing, property management, business services and the Hong Kong Police Force.
The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions, such as management trainee, engineer, customer service officer, property officer, programmer, assistant human resource officer, assistant marketing manager, shop manager trainee, flight attendant, financial consultant, financial research assistant and police inspector.
Most of the positions offer a monthly salary ranging from $8,000 to $13,000. Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews.
In addition, special panels will be mounted to display vacancies solicited from other establishments. The department will also conduct on-the-spot job registration for applicants.
A list of the participating companies and the vacancies offered has been uploaded onto the Labour Department's website. Interested job-seekers may visit the website at www.jobs.gov.hk.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 6pm at the Exhibition Hall, 1/F, Low Block, Hong Kong City Hall, Central. Admission is free.
