The picture shows a replica of Jules Rimet trophy which was designed by the French sculptor Abel Lafleur. It was originally awarded at the 1930 World Cup final. In 1983 the original trophy was stolen in Brazil and never recovered. The exhibit will be on display along with some 150 items selected from the National Football Museum in England and the Hong Kong Football Association at the "Football" exhibition running from tomorrow (June 21) until September 18 at the Hong Kong Museum of History. The exhibition provides visitors with a panorama of football's historical landmarks such as the formation of official football organisations, the development of match rules, the birth of the World Cup and the emergence of those football giants who populate the game's hall of fame. It also reviews the glorious days of Hong Kong football.
