Kowloon Hospital Norovirus cases update
***************************************

Following the announcement yesterday (June 15) that four female patients on a medical ward in Kowloon Hospital had vomiting and diarrhoea symptoms, the hospital announced the following updates today (June 16):

Today there are two more female patients (aged 67 and 86) and one staff member in the same ward presenting with vomiting and diarrhoea symptoms. The patients are being treated in isolation and are in a stable condition and the staff member is on sick leave. Appropriate tests are being carried out, and two of the patients have tested positive to Novovirus.

Infection control measures have already been enhanced. There will be no admission to the ward for the time-being. Visitors will not be allowed into the isolated cubicle in the ward until further notice. All other patients in the ward concerned are under close surveillance.

The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for follow up.
