Musicians pay tribute to Mozart and Schumann

    A group of local musicians will celebrate the 250th anniversary of Mozart and the 150th anniversary of Schumann with a tribute concert next month.

     The concert will be held at 8pm on Tuesday, July 11, at the Theatre, Hong Kong City Hall.

     Versatile pianists Raymond Young and Grace Lau, tenor David Quah, coloratura soprano Jeffie Leung and Apex String Quartet, will perform Mozart's "Divertimento in D, K136"; "Piano Sonata in B-flat for Piano Duet, K358"; "Dove sono, Aria of Countess (from The Marriage of Figaro, K492)"; "Aria of Queen of the Night (from The Magic Flute, K620)"; "Piano Sonata in A, K331"; "Piano Concerto in A, K414 (Version for Piano Quintet)"; "Eine kleine Nachtmusik, K525" and Schumann's two Lieder: "Widmung"; "Auftrage"; "Romance for Violin and Piano, Op. 94, No. 2"; "Kreisleriana, Op. 16, No. 1, 6 & 7"; "Fantasy Pieces for Cello and Piano, Op. 73"; "Song Cycle Dichterliebe, Op. 48, No. 1 ¡ª 7" and "Piano Quintet in E-flat, Op. 44" at the concert.

     "Mozart & Schumann ¡ª Raymond Young & Friends" is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

     Tickets priced at $90 and $130 are now available at URBTIX outlets, while senior citizens, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients may have 50% off (limited quotas for CSSA recipients on a first-come, first-served basis). A 10% discount applies to Friends of LCSD performing venues.
