***********************************************************

The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) will stage a three-day exhibition on Slope Safety and Greening Master Plans starting tomorrow (June 16) at the Metropolis Mall venue C, Hung Hom.

Open from 11am to 9pm, the exhibition aims to convey messages to visitors about the importance of slope safety and proper slope maintenance through colourful display panels, videos and an information kiosk.  Information on landslip warnings and danger as well as precautionary measures will be on display.

The exhibition will also highlight the department's work in the development and implementation of Greening Master Plans for selected urban areas. An overview of the Greening Master Plan initiatives will be shown by displaying photographs of some completed greening works in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Interesting quiz games on slope safety will be held from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday (June 17). Meanwhile, the Community Advisory Unit of CEDD's Geotechnical Engineering Office will also conduct a "Meet the Public" session to answer questions about slope safety and slope maintenance.

Enquiries on slope safety and slope maintenance can be made at the Citizen's Easy Link 1823. People are also welcome to visit the Hong Kong Slope Safety Website http://hkss.cedd.gov.hk.
