Public health experts visit Shenzhen

    Six public health, medical and veterinary professionals from the Government and the Hospital Authority this afternoon (June 14) departed for Shenzhen to hold a meeting with their Mainland counterparts on issues relating to a suspected human case of avian influenza infection.

     During the visit, the Hong Kong delegation will meet with experts of the Shenzhen health and agricultural authorities to exchange views and share information on epidemiological, laboratory and animal investigation findings as well as clinical treatment of the case.

     Members of the delegation included Principal Medical and Health Officer of the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH), Dr Teresa Choi, Head of Public Health Laboratory Services Branch of DH, Dr Wilina Lim, Senior Medical and Health Officer of CHP, Dr Edwin Tsui, Consultant in-charge (Infectious Control Team) of Princess Margaret Hospital, Dr Lai Sik-to and Chief of Service (Department of Respiratory Medicine) of Kowloon Hospital, Dr Thomas Mok and Veterinary Officer of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, Dr Mary Chow.
