Man charged with murder

Police today (June 10) charged a 76-year-old man with one count of murder.

The man was arrested after his 73-year-old wife was found lying unconscious on the bed in the bedroom at their home in Yuk Ping House of Long Ping Estate in Yuen Long yesterday (June 9) and was certified dead by ambulancemen at scene.

A post-mortem conducted today revealed that the deceased was died of suffocation. Further toxicological examinations will be conducted in due course.

The man will appear in Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts on Monday (June 12).
