Running from tomorrow (June 9) to September 10 at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, "The World of Etruscans" exhibition will feature a selection of fascinating pieces including terracotta statuettes, pottery items, canopic urns, stone sculptures, sarcophagi, bronze ware and jewellery, giving a comprehensive picture of the Etruscan civilisation 2,000 years ago. Pictured is a statuette of a warrior made in about 550 BC. This warrior comes from the archaeological site of Brolio, one of the most important votive sites of the Archaic Etruria, and probably from a place of worship. Owing to its long and narrow shape and also a pin on the head, archaeologists regarded this stature as the supports of a throne, a piece of furniture or a bronze cup.
