Pok Oi Hospital (POH) issued the following announcement today (June 7):
Four patients (aged 56 to 71) of a male ward in POH presented with diarrhoea symptoms from June 4, 2006 to June 7, 2006.ĦĦThree of them have been transferred to isolation ward of Tuen Mun Hospital for further management, their condition is stable; the fourth has recovered and been discharged. The test results of the patients are pending.
Infection control measures of the ward concerned have already been stepped up. Admission to and discharge from the ward have been suspended, with limited visiting arrangements. Patients' relatives have been informed about the situation. All other patients and the staff in the ward are under close surveillance.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for follow up.
