Poll cards posted to Centre Street by-election voters

    Poll cards for a Central and Western District Council by-election to be held on Sunday, June 11, have been posted to some 6,100 electors in the Centre Street Constituency.

     "Those who have not yet received their poll cards can make enquiries to the Election Hotline, 2891 1001," a spokesman for the Registration and Electoral Office said today (June 7).

     Electors of the constituency also should have received an appeal letter from the Returning Officer, a map of the polling station, a guide to voting, an ICAC leaflet on clean elections and a leaflet introducing the candidates.

     Particulars of the three candidates contesting the by-election, in the order of candidate number, name, occupation and political affiliation, are as follows:

     Candidate No: 1
     Wong Kin Shing, Nelson
     Managing Director
     Political affiliation: Democratic Party

     Candidate No: 2
     Leung Wing On, Louis
     Certified Public Accountant
     Political affiliation: ---

     Candidate No: 3
     Lee Chi Hang, Sidney
     Solicitor
     Political affiliation: ---

     The polling station is located at Tsung Tsin Mission of Hong Kong Kau Yan Church and Kau Yan School, G/F, 96 Third Street, Sai Ying Pun. It will be open from 7.30am to 10.30pm on June 11 for electors to cast their votes.

     The polling station will become the counting station once the poll is closed.

     The successful candidate will fill a vacant seat in the Central and Western District Council.
