The ¡°Friends of Hong Kong Cultural Centre¡± scheme, which fosters links with the public and promotes appreciation and interest in the arts, is now offering half-year membership from July 1 to December 31, 2006.
By paying only half the annual fee, members can enjoy a full package of exclusive benefits such as 10% ticket discounts on most of the cultural programmes presented or sponsored by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), including the International Arts Carnival 2006, ¡°Midsummer Night¡¯s Dream¡± by the Teatro alla Scala Ballet Company (Italy), the re-run of ¡°The School and I¡± by Chung Ying Theatre Company, the performances of Manhattan Transfer, Fourplay, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Boys Choir and Xiaobaihui Yue Opera Troupe of Shaoxing.
They can also enjoy special discounts on purchases of CDs, books, gifts, musical instruments and scores, jewellery, art works as well as Ocean Park SmartFun Annual Pass.
Other benefits include discounts on art and cultural courses, magazine subscriptions, and special offers from hotels and restaurants.
Members will also have the opportunity to attend dress rehearsals, lectures and demonstrations, visit art institutes and take a free guided tour of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
The Friends' newsletter and events calendar will keep members informed of the latest arts programmes.
Those who enrol now will receive a free tool set or manicure kit while stocks last.
Half-year membership fees for ¡°Friends of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre¡± is $75 for individuals, $110 for joint members, and $35 for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and full-time students.
