Statement by Women's Commission

The following is issued on behalf of the Women's Commission:

     The Women's Commission expressed deep regret that a radio programme on Commercial Radio had launched a survey on "the most popular actress targets of indecent assault" on the internet. This is a blatant act of disrespect to females and encouraging violence against women. Indecent assault is illegal and is a criminal offence. We believe that the community will not accept such a notion. The Women's Commission denounces any acts that degrade the dignity and respect of females. We do not accept any such acts of blurring the lines of right and wrong.
