Job fair offers more than 2,000 vacancies

    The Labour Department will stage a recruitment forum at Hong Kong Central Library on Wednesday (June 7), providing more than 2,000 vacancies.

     Forty companies will offer about 1,600 vacancies for on-the-spot application. Special panels will also be mounted to display some 500 vacancies solicited from other companies.

     These companies come from various trades and industries, including catering, retail, property management, real estates, business services, banking, telecommunication, aircraft engineering and beauty services.

     The vacancies cover a variety of positions including managerial posts such as shop manager, restaurant manager, sales manager, management trainee, shop supervisor and security officer; frontline positions such as customer service officer, salesperson, sales representative, bank teller, waiter, estate agent and security guard; professional/technical positions such as engineer, software designer, aircraft maintenance craftsman trainee, technician trainee, maintenance technician, and chef; and other vacancies such as beautician, clerk, accounting clerk, warehouse clerk, cashier and cleaner.

     Most of the vacancies offer a monthly salary ranging from $5,000 to $10,000. Job-seekers of different qualifications and work experience are welcome to apply.  They can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews.

     In addition, the Labour Department will conduct on-the-spot job registration.

     The recruitment forum will be held from 11am to 6.30pm at Exhibition Gallery, ground floor, Hong Kong Central Library, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Admission is free.
