From tomorrow (June 4) people will be able to enjoy cultural and Kung Fu activities at Kowloon Park.
A new round of the Arts Fun Fair, organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), will be launched at Kowloon Park tomorrow (June 4).
Park-goers can enjoy the cultural activities at the fun fairs and foster appreciation of the arts in a leisure setting.
There will be 30 stalls set up at Kowloon Park. In the fun fair, a wide range of recreational, art and cultural-related souvenirs will be for sale, while services like painting, photography, calligraphy and sketching will be offered.
People are welcome to visit the Arts Fun Fair at Kowloon Park between 1pm and 7pm on Sundays and public holidays until May 27, 2007. Admission is free.
After visiting the Arts Fun Fair, visitors can also go to the Kung Fu Corner set up every Sunday from 2.30pm to 4.30 pm at the Sculpture Walk of the park. Free demonstrations of lion or dragon dances and different disciplines of martial arts will be staged and sessions will be organised for visitors to join in the activities. In addition, exhibits on the history and development of traditional martial arts and dragon or lion dances will be on display.
Similar events known as "Arts Corners" are held in Victoria Park and Hong Kong Park.
The Arts Corner at Victoria Park will run from 10am to 6pm on Sundays and public holidays until September 24 while the Hong Kong Park Arts Corner will run from noon to 6pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays until December 31.
Renovation works will be conducted at Lai Chi Kok Park from July to September and the loggia where the Arts Fun Fair will be held will be affected. Phase VIII Arts Fun Fair at the park scheduled to be started tomorrow will be postponed to October 2.
