The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (June 2) obtained orders for payment of outstanding MPF contributions owed to 20 employees at around $630,000 against three employers in the District Court.
The District Court today issued judgements against three employers, Genesis Engineering Transportation Company Limited, Wealland Electronics Company Limited and Megareve Limited. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA the sums of $388,196.17, $196,754.1 and $51,905.36 respectively, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 16, three and one employees of the defendants respectively.
The amounts awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The court further awarded payment of $15,000, $930 and $8,000 respectively as costs in respect of the claims.
