Employer fined for breaching MPFS Ordinance

    An employer was fined $39,000 at the Kwun Tong Magistrate's court today (June 1), after being convicted of offences under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485).

     In an ex-parte hearing, the defendant, CC & E International Media Limited (BR no.: 32551324), was convicted of offences under section 7A(8) of the ordinance. The defendant was convicted of 12 counts of failing to make MPF contributions within the prescribed time for the contribution periods between April 2003 and March 2004. The defendant was fined $6,000 for the first summons and $3,000 for the other 11 summonses, totalling $39,000.
