Seminar and roadshow series to promote Hong Kong's R&D Centres

    A seminar and roadshow series to be held in Guangdong Province will help industries understand the role of Hong Kong's Research and Development Centres and potential business opportunities the centres could bring.

     The seminar and roadshow series, to be held in Guangzhou on May 29, Foshan on May 30, Shenzhen on June 8 and Dongguan on June 9, are organised by the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government and the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province.

     "Manufacturers, technology companies, research institutes and university representatives are all welcome to join the event. Admission is free," a spokesman for the Innovation and Technology Commission said today (May 22).

     "The Research and Development Centre Programme is a major initiative of the HKSAR Government. The programme aims to leverage on Hong Kong's advantages and provide a one-stop service platform for technology transfer and commercialisation to increase the productivity and competitiveness of enterprises in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta Region."

     "The major research focus areas of the R&D Centres include automotive parts and accessory systems; information and communications technologies; logistics and supply-chain management enabling technologies; nanotechnology and advanced materials; textiles and clothing, and Chinese medicine," the spokesman said.
