In response to media enquiries on the petition made by workers from Dickson Construction Co Ltd on wages in arrears in the three projects undertaken by the Architectural Services Department (ASD), a spokesman for the department said today (May 19), "ASD has been closely liaising with the company and kept urging it to settle the wages in arrears with the workers.
"We are processing the company's project accounts in accordance with the contract conditions. After setting off monies due to the ASD, part of the payments has been made to the company in May 2006.
"The ASD will assist the workers by liaising with the company to find ways to settle the outstanding wages," the spokesman added.
