Housing Authority rolls out surplus HOS flats sales programme
****************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Housing Authority:

The Housing Authority today (April 28) rolled out the detailed sales programme for its 16 600 odd surplus Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) flats from 2007 to 2009.

ˇ°Two phases of sale (around 2 000 to 3 000 flats per phase) have been scheduled for each year from 2007 to 2009, with flats of different designs, price ranges and districts to be included in each sale phase to balance the mix of flats,ˇ± a spokesman for the Authority said.

ˇ°To enhance transparency and allow ample time for market players to plan ahead, the sales programme of 10 926 unsold flats in 10 major HOS courts was announced in January 2006.  Another 6 000 scattered unsold and returned HOS flats will be included flexibly in the sale phases of major HOS courts,ˇ± he added.

ˇ°The arrangement can avoid launching a considerable number of flats in one go and is consistent with the principle of minimising impact on the private residential property market as far as practicable.

ˇ°Any surplus HOS flats left over from each sale phase will be put up for sale in subsequent phase.

ˇ°The sales programme could be adjusted having regard to sales response and market circumstances, etc.,ˇ± the spokesman said.
