"No. 9", created in 1948, a transitional period for Mark Rothko. Running from tomorrow (March 31) to June 4 at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, "The Art of Mark Rothko: Selections from the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C." exhibition will feature 27 representative works by leading abstract expressionist Mark Rothko (1903-1970). Selected from different phases of Rothko's career - from the early works of figurative representation, through his surrealist compositions, to mature works of monumental size and colour - the exhibition invites audiences to follow the mysterious path of the artist's inner being.
