Draft URA Yu Lok Lane/Centre Street Development Scheme Plan published

    The Town Planning Board today (March 17) announced the publication of the draft Urban Renewal Authority Yu Lok Lane/Centre Street Development Scheme Plan (DSP).

     The concerned area is scheduled to be developed by means of the Development Scheme prepared under section 25 of the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance. It covers an area of about 1,817 square metres generally bounded by Third Street, Centre Street, High Street and Western Street, with Yu Lok Lane penetrating through the site from east to west.  

     The scheme area is designated as "Comprehensive Development Area" to achieve environmental improvement through comprehensive redevelopment, promoting efficient land use and providing open space accessible to the public. The development scheme will accommodate residential and retail uses, and a public open space of not less than 1,100 square metres.

     In accordance with section 25(9) of the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance, the draft DSP replaces the Sai Ying Pun & Sheung Wan Outline Zoning Plan in relation to the area delineated and described in the draft DSP.

     The draft DSP No. S/H3/URA2/1 is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters in North Point and Sha Tin, the Hong Kong District Planning Office, and the Public Enquiry Service Centre of the Central & Western District Office.

     Any person may make written representation in respect of the draft DSP to the Secretary of the Town Planning Board on or before May 17, 2006. Representations made to the board will be available for public inspection.

     Copies of the draft DSP are available for sale at Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Town Planning Board's website at http://www.info.gov.hk/tpb/.
