A bronze spearhead made in the late Shang dynasty (c. 11th century BC), one of the exhibits in the "Ancient Chinese Weapons" exhibition, running from tomorrow (March 17) until September 20 at the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence. This bronze spearhead has a form of patina called "azurite", giving it a rich, blue colour. The exhibition features about 100 ancient weapons, giving visitors an insight into the military tactics, art and cultural beliefs of pre-Han China, and the development of the Chinese writing system.
