The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Toronto; the Commerce, Industry and Technology Bureau and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce held a joint video conference today (March 11) to brief students in Canada the career opportunities in Hong Kong. More than 500 university students in Ontario and British Columbia participated in the fourth annual video conference which connected them to human resources and career development experts in Hong Kong. The video conference was hosted by the acting Permanent Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology (Commerce and Industry), Mr Philip Yung, and Human Resources Manager of CLP Power (Hong Kong) Limited, Mr H S Chan, in Hong Kong; and HKETO Director, Mr Bassanio So, in Toronto. Other guest speakers included partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr Barry Macdonald; Mr Alan Yip of Yip Design Limited; Managing Director of Aspirations Limited, Ms Sonya Wu; as well as a recent Canadian university graduate, Ms Xenos Hung. Mr Yung (second right) is pictured giving a welcoming address at the conference.
