The Immigration Department announced today (February 17) that six passenger e-channels have been activated at Sha Tau Kok control point. The e-channels are open to the public from 9am to 5pm daily.
Hong Kong permanent residents and holders of Documents of Identity for Visa Purposes (aged 11 or above), who also hold smart identity cards may use the e-channels to perform self-service clearance.
A spokesman for the department reminded passengers that if their fingers were too dry, wet or unclean, they would encounter difficulties with fingerprint verification. To avoid delay, they should moisten, wipe or clean their fingers before entering the e-channels.
