Exquisite Valentine's Day Gifts from Hongkong Post
**************************************************

A selection of charming gifts for Valentine's Day was now available from Hongkong Post, the Postmaster General, Mr Allan Chiang, announced today (February 1).

A new "Valentine Local CourierPost" prepaid envelope will be available at all Post Offices from now until February 13 for people to send their love a gift on Valentine's Day. "A lovely greeting card comes free-of-charge when people purchase the envelope at a cost of only $35. Just express your love with style and create your own gift set to be posted for delivery on the great day, and Hongkong Post will help to provide your valentine with the sweetest memory of this special occasion," Mr Chiang said. All "Valentine Local CourierPost" prepaid envelopes posted on or before the posting cut-off time on February 13 will be delivered to local recipients on  February 14.

In addition, two gift sets - "Cats in Love" and "Sweetheart in Mind", are available for mail order at all Post Offices throughout the territory or online at ShopThruPost (www.shopthrupost.hk) from now until February 9. "Cats in Love" comes as a cuddly 35cm-tall Tomcat with magnetised paws holding a heart-shaped soap, while "Sweetheart in Mind" is a red velvet heart-shaped cushion with a winged pink heart clasp. Each set is packed with an Alphabet Stamp Souvenir Cover affixed with gummed stamps displaying "I Love You", and will be cancelled with a February 14, 2006, Philatelic Bureau postmark to help preserve the memory of the magical day. For orders placed on or before February 9, the gift sets will be delivered to local recipients on February 14. "You can demonstrate your love with a sweet surprise when your gift set is delivered to your beloved by Local CourierPost on Valentine's Day," Mr Chiang said. "Cats in Love" and "Sweetheart in Mind" retail at $268 and $168 respectively, including the Local CourierPost delivery charge on Valentine's Day.

"The provision of a special local delivery service for these products on Valentine's Day underlies Hongkong Post's corporate purpose statement - Linking People, Delivering Business - and at the same time conveys a very personal touch from the sender," Mr Chiang said. "We are delighted to offer this convenient way for our customers to show their care and send their love to that special someone on this very special day."

Premium Japanese chocolate and sweets gift sets which retail between $240 and $380 are also available for online ordering exclusively at ShopThruPost (www.shopthrupost.hk) starting from today. It only takes three to five working days for the gift sets to be sent directly from Japan to your loved ones in Hong Kong.

If your loved ones are in Mainland China, bouquets and floral arrangements from the Hong Kong/Mainland Gift Fulfilment Service are an ideal choice for Valentine's Day gifts.  The gift sets are priced from $250 to $590, inclusive of delivery charges to more than 2,000 cities on the Mainland.  Now, with a surcharge of only $80 for time-specific service, gift sets can be delivered to recipients in Mainland China on February 14. Mail order for the Valentine's Day specific service is also available from now through February 9 at all Post Offices and online at ShopThruPost (www.shopthrupost.hk).

"The latest date for ordering the Valentine's Day souvenirs and gift sets under the Hong Kong/Mainland Gift Fulfilment Service for delivery on Valentine's Day is February 9. In view of last year's overwhelming response, we urge people to place their orders as early as possible to avoid a last minute rush or disappointment when stocks run out before the latest ordering date," Mr Chiang said.
