Sports Commission wraps up Australian tour (with photos)

    The delegation of the Sports Commission, led by the Secretary for Home Affairs and Chairman of the Commission, Dr Patrick Ho, wraps up its week-long study tour in Australia with a trip to the famous Victoria Institute of Sports and Victoria Major Events Company in Melbourne today (January 20).

     At their visit to the Victoria Institute of Sports, members of the delegation exchanged views and experience with the management on sports facilities, programmes and support services required for the training of elite athletes.

     At the Victoria Major Events Company, a world leader in the procurement of major sporting and cultural events, members were briefed on how the company had attracted events which could provide substantial economic impact for the Melbourne and Victoria.

     In the past few days, the delegation had visited major sports facilities and events, and most importantly, established work relation with both government and non-government organisations of Melbourne and Victoria.

     The delegation will leave Melbourne later tonight.
