The Land Registry today (January 5) released the land registration statistics recorded for 2005.
The total number of sale and purchase agreements for all types of building units received for registration in the Land Registry for the period was 123,697. This represented an increase of 0.2% compared with 2004 and 41.7% compared with 2003.
The total consideration involved in these agreements was $395.51 billion. This was up by 12.4% compared with 2004 and 108.8% compared with 2003.
During 2005, 156,280 assignments of building units were lodged for registration. This was 15.7% over the 135,106 recorded during 2004 and 42% over the 110,052 recorded in 2003.
The total consideration involved, amounting to $397.36 billion, was an increase of 30% over 2004 and 91.7% over 2003.
Searches of land records made by members of the public during 2005 totalled 4,242,948. This was up by 15.8% compared with 2004 and 50.1% compared with 2003.
